Gantrischseeli Trail - via Bierehubel

Snowshoe route
Time required: 1 hour 5 minutesLength: 2.30 km

Naturpark Gantrisch - Beautiful snowshoe trail over the Birehubel to the Gantrischseeli. The tour offers beautiful views of the surrounding area and is ideal for a leisurely snowshoe tour.

From the post bus stop and the Untere Gantrischhütte parking lot, there are 3 ways to get to the wintry Gantrischseeli. The route leads along the summer hiking trails. Snowshoe routes are signposted at the junctions. The destinations and hiking times can be read on the summer signposts. This provides visitors unfamiliar with the area with further attractive off-road trails.

Depending on snow conditions and previous use, the route can also be used simply as a winter hiking trail.

A loop leads over the Gantrischsense, whose stream bed is usually decorated with magnificent ice sculptures. You climb over a broad ridge up to the Birehütte. The view of the Selibühl and the Gantrisch mountains opens up. A short descent leads to the snow-covered Seeli, from where a direct route northwards leads back to the parking lot. If you want to go a little further, climb up through the sparse forest to the Oberi Gantischhütte. Now the Gantrisch, the Bürglen north flank and the Birehubel are even more visible. On beautiful winter days, numerous ski tourers make their tracks in the powder snow. From the WC hut, you return northwards to the Untere Gantrischhütte. From point 1553, a frequently used hiking trail leads to the watershed, which may only be used without winter sports equipment due to game protection regulations.
