viaCapricorn is a mountain hike that leads through the natural habitat of the Alpine ibex. Per stage, experienced mountaineers need to plan around 6 to 8 hours.
The viaCapricorn leads in 3 stages across the area of the Safien-Rheinwald ibex colony. On the 1st day you walk through beautiful alpine meadows, past Piz Beverin and the turquoise Schottensee. If you are lucky you will see the ibexes!

The twelfth stage of the Jakobsweg leads from Wattenwil to Schwarzenburg. The route passes the monastery ruins in Rüeggisberg and the church Wahlern before Schwarzenburg. On this route, you hike through the intact pre-Alpine landscape of the Gantrisch Nature Park.
On an old Roman road, the Sense Gorge, a popular local recreation and nature reserve area, is crossed. Without any further significant inclines, the hiking trail reaches the lower old town of Fribourg.
With the capital at your back, the path leads through forests and villages, always with a view of the striking Bernese trio Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau.
